Submitted by jim on October 29, 2005 - 10:35am.

As all of you have heard by now, Friends in Faith are back again this fall for more fun, fellowship, service, and study. But many still aren't sure who we are and what we're about. So we hope we can clear up some misunderstandings by answering some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's). Here's everything you ever wanted to know about Friends in Faith, but were afraid to ask:

  • I'd love to join Friends in Faith, but I'm single - is there a group for me?
Friends in Faith IS the group for you. We are pretty evenly divided between singles and couples. All of our activities are single-friendly, as well. Whether you're married or single, you are invited to join us.

  • I'm in my early twenties or late thirties. Can I join anyway?
No "anyway" about it. Our class is geared toward anyone from 18-39, in college, out of college, no intention of going to college. Wherever you're going, wherever you've been, we want you!

  • People with kids aren't welcome in Friends in Faith, right?
Au contraire, mon ami! We are for any young adult, parent or not. On Sundays, just drop your little ones off for their Sunday school and then come by room 303 (or, if you have even littler ones, drop them off at the nursery, which is conveniently located right next door). For other activites, we can easily arrange for childcare, or you can just bring them along!

  • I have to work on Sundays or I'm not a morning person, so coming to class at 9:15 every Sunday doesn't work for me. Is there any way I can still be involved?
Absolutely! We have several members who can't regularly make it to class for various reasons. Sunday morning is only one part of the Friends in Faith experience. We have lots of social and service activites on the weekends and during the week to accommodate the schedules of today's busy young adults.

  • I collect LP's, play the horn, do yoga, work with animals, sing, like sports, do marketing, and I am a student. Is there anybody in the group like me?
Yes! Friends in Faith members have wide and varied interests. Whatever you do or like to do, you'll fit right in!

  • I get so hungry on Sunday mornings; what should I do?
Never fear! We always have loads of yummy treats for your consumption during class on Sunday mornings.

  • I would love to come to class but when and where is class? And where can I find info on upcoming events and photos of the group in action?
Sunday morning class is 9:15(ish) in room 303 on the third floor next to the new nursery. Info on upcoming events and photos of the group in action are right here on this website! We also send out weekly updates that anyone with an email address can sign up to receive.

Hopefully, we were able to answer some of your questions and straighten out any misconceptions about us. If your question wasn't answered here, contact us. We'd love for you to join us!
